Visitors are always welcome to the Allotments which are open 7 days a week. The gates are locked overnight for security. There are no rigid set hours of opening as there is usually a plot holder around who opens the gate on arrival. All that is asked of visitors is that they keep to the main paths and do not stray into the plots.
Normally Opening Hours are dependent on daylight hours as follows:
March to April
9.00 am – 6.00 pm (depending on daylight hours)
May – September
8.00 am – Dusk
October – February
10.00 am – 4.00 pm (depending on daylight hours)
During the Months November, December, January and February the plots opening times may vary as the plot holders have very little to do over the winter period as the growing and harvesting period is over and they shut their ground down until March. The best time to visit is between May and September during the growing season when the plots should have more to see on them.
Please feel free to approach the gardeners if you are looking for advice on growing fruit and vegetables at home.
If you are interested in becoming a plot holder please see our contact details or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to add your name to the list. We would require your name, address, postcode and contact telephone number for the waiting list so that we can contact you if a plot becomes available.
